Google is now offering a free Pixel Stand and an extra pair of earbuds when you buy a Pixel 3. That’s a $109 value and a solid opportunity for those who missed Google’s Black Friday discounts.
Google really wants to put the Pixel 3 in your hands. The popular Android device, which was initially said to be too expensive (we’re talking $799) has seen some wild discounts and bundles in anticipation of the holidays. Right now, Google is offering a free Pixel Stand and an extra pair of earbuds if you order the Pixel from the Google Store. It’s not a discount on the phone itself, but it’s a great deal if you were already planning on buying the Pixel Stand or some more earbuds with your Pixel phone.
Again, this is $109 value, but it may not tickle everybody’s wallet. Really, the Pixel Stand is the best part of this bundle. It’s a unique device that offers 10W (pretty-dang-fast) wireless charging, and it has some built-in Google Assistant features (like photo slideshows and smart home compatibility) when paired with a Pixel phone. You could say that it turns your Pixel 3 into a temporary Google Home Hub. Of course, a free Pixel Stand is only worthwhile if you’re a fan of wireless charging or Google Assistant. It’s also worth noting that the Pixel Stand is currently the only way to get fast wireless charging on the Pixel 3/XL.
Google’s choice to include an extra pair of USB-C earbuds with the Pixel 3 may not be music to everybody’s ears. For starters, we’re talking about an extra pair of earbuds—a duplicate of the earbuds that already come with the Pixel 3. Granted, they’re a neat pair of earbuds that offer Google Assistant compatibility, hands-free notifications, and real-time linguistic translations, but most people who own just one pair of these earbuds will probably never use any of those features. Of course, a free pair of USB-C headphones is a free pair of USB-C headphones. Phones don’t have headphone jacks anymore, so any pair of modern earbuds is much appreciated.
