Having previously launched many USB-C chargers, HYPER is back with what it says is the world’s first (and smallest) 100 Watt Gallium Nitride USB-C wall charger, a compact AC to DC adapter that can power four devices at once.

Gallium nitride (GaN—a combination of Gallium and Nitrogen) produces an electric field that is 10 times stronger than traditional silicon-based adapters. That means GaN-based chargers can handle a similar or greater power output in a smaller and more efficient package than conventional chargers.

In this case, the HyperJuice 100 Watt GaN is comparable in size to a deck of cards and is said to be 50% smaller than current options that are designed using non-GaN components. Despite being so compact, it can feed electricity to four devices at once over its dual USB-C and dual USB-A ports.

So for instance you could quick charge a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone, and AirPods or an Apple Watch at the same time. Likewise, the charger is capable of simultaneously powering two 15-inch MacBook Pros. In the event that you are ordering from outside the US or travel to another country with the charger, note that it ships with pin converters so you can plug the device in on UK and AU style wall sockets.

All of the photos are of a working prototype. HYPER notes that it has enough materials to make about 5,000 units but after that it will count on support from Kickstarter to acquire new materials. The company originally requested a backing of $100,000 and has so far received well over $600,000 from more than 7,700 backers with 27 days to go for the fundraising campaign.

Production is expected to begin in early December and initial shipments are slated for January 2020, though the first round will be limited to Kickstarter backers who got in during the Early Bird Special offers. Other tiers on Kickstarter are scheduled to receive their chargers in February 2020.

As of writing, only 79 Kickstarter Specials were left out of 4,400 and they require you to pledge $59 or more to get one 100 Watt HyperJuice charger at 40% off the anticipated retail price of $99. Pledging $118 as part of the early Kickstarter Special will get you two HyperJuice chargers, though only 9 of these are currently left out of 900.
